Vintage 1917 York Band & Orchestra Horn / Mellophone

For your consideration here is a lovely vintage York Band & Orchestra Horn. I guess the folks at York didn't like the word "mellophone" lol
The serial number of 46128 dates it to approximately 1917.
For being 105 years old, it's in quite good shape.  There aren't any plainly obvious signs of re-soldering or major dent work.  As you can see in the photos, the silver plating is in remarkably good condition, unfortunately the photos don't show the rich luster and shine of the silver.  There is very little in terms of wear on the common touch points, but there are some typical scratches here & there, and some specks of dark tarnish in the nooks and crannies which perhaps the new owner would like to work on...I personally like the vintage-ness these tarnish spots give.  The bell section remains flat rimmed & stands up.  There are a few tiny pings here and there, and on the curve leading to the bell there's a slightly flattened area, but nothing terrible at all.
The horn plays quite beautifully, and has a nice french horn timbre.  Valves move freely and the slides adjust properly.  There is a small dent towards the top of valve #2, however this does not interfere with the valve port or the action of the valve within its casing, and compression is good. (see photo)  This horn comes with crooks to play in F, Eb, D, and C, with the 3 tuning slides marked to where each should be pulled for the respective key change.  The F crook shows considerable wear to the finish, and the Eb just a bit. In the unlikely event you'd want to do so, the horn can also be switched to high pitch.
A mouthpiece marked The Regent 5 is included.
The included case has some black tape on the edges, shows some wear on the outside, (nothing a little black paint wouldn't cure), and is otherwise sturdy. Wear shows on the inside velvet lining, but there thankfully isn't any of that stank odor that old instrument cases tend to gather.  Latches latch & lock locks.
